Your persona, your choice.
Updated September 13, 2026.
What you share
Your persona can contain your chosen name, story, role, venue relationship, appearance, links and map actions. It starts private. Only the public preview is shared when you explicitly publish it.
Connected accounts
Instagram connection uses Meta’s official authorization screen for eligible Business or Creator accounts. An import can read the profile and up to 200 recent post captions using the permissions you grant. Older text can be added from your own JSON export. LinkedIn authorization reads basic profile information, not your full career history. You can supply additional text yourself.
Profile links work without connecting accounts. A link alone does not verify ownership. MapWoven never asks for your Instagram or LinkedIn password. Provider access tokens are used on the server for the import, then discarded; MapWoven does not keep background access. Provider app setup and approval are required before connection buttons become available.
What stays private
Your account email, imported captions, source text and draft stay private to your account. We do not read messages, contacts or private interactions, and do not infer sensitive traits or personality from photos. A venue relationship is self-described and never indicates your current physical location.
Your browser stores the sign-in session. During a connection you initiate, it temporarily keeps your current editable draft in session storage so your edits survive the provider’s sign-in screen. That temporary record is removed on return or sign-out.
Editing and removal
Use the persona editor to remove a source, edit your story, unpublish or delete your persona and imports. Deleting an import does not rewrite words you already chose for your persona. Delete those separately if desired. Unpublishing or deleting removes the persona from subsequent public map loads; a visitor’s already-open page may retain its current view until refreshed.
Deleting persona data does not delete your Instagram, LinkedIn or shared sign-in account. You can revoke MapWoven’s authorization in the connected provider’s settings. Exporting a persona saves the public-facing fields you chose; it does not export account credentials or source captions.
External links
Instagram, LinkedIn and website buttons open the destination you selected. Those sites apply their own privacy practices. Map actions such as wave and walk are playful illustrations initiated by the visitor.
